Renewable Energy Project Developer

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic force in the Energy sector , is seeking an ambitious Renewable Energy Project Developer to join their team in Nottingham . This role is integral to identifying, assessing, and securing new opportunities for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage. You will be responsible for managing the entire development lifecycle, from initial site identification and feasibility studies through to securing planning permissions and financing. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive individual to play a key role in expanding the deployment of clean energy solutions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential sites for new renewable energy projects.
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, including technical, environmental, and financial assessments.
• Secure necessary planning permissions, permits, and grid connection agreements.
• Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Engage with landowners, local authorities, grid operators, and other stakeholders to advance project development.
• Negotiate and finalize Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other project contracts.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in renewable energy project development, with a strong understanding of the UK market.
• Demonstrated success in securing planning consents and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, storage) and regulatory frameworks relevant to Nottingham and the wider UK.
