Renewable Energy Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of key projects in the Newcastle upon Tyne region. This role is instrumental in driving the expansion of our client's renewable energy portfolio, managing projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the UK's transition to clean energy, working in a role that requires strong leadership and technical acumen.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of renewable energy projects , including site assessment, planning, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants.
• Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and health and safety protocols throughout project lifecycles.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community groups.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and company policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; PMP certification is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in managing large-scale renewable energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, battery storage).
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and external vendors effectively.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of planning processes and environmental impact assessments within the UK.
