About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead the development and execution of significant renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on wind and solar, for their operations in the Sunderland region and beyond. This role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, risk management, and driving the successful integration of sustainable energy solutions, playing a key role in our client's commitment to a greener future.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
- Ensure all projects comply with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
- Report on project progress, key milestones, and financial performance to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years specifically in the renewable energy sector .
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale wind or solar farm projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
