About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Research Assistant to support their busy Molecular Biology laboratory in Norwich . This hands-on role involves assisting senior scientists with various experimental procedures essential for ongoing research projects. You will contribute to studies focused on understanding fundamental biological processes and disease mechanisms, working within a supportive team environment and gaining valuable experience in a leading research institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA extraction.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and media according to established protocols.
• Assist in the maintenance of cell cultures and laboratory equipment.
• Accurately record experimental data and maintain laboratory notebooks.
• Support senior researchers in experimental design and execution.

Requirements

• BSc or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
• Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a molecular biology setting.
• Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
