About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Research Associate to join their cutting-edge Genomics laboratory in Nottingham . You will play a key role in supporting a variety of genomic research projects, from sample preparation and sequencing to data analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing technologies and contribute to significant discoveries in the field. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in laboratory techniques, and eager to work collaboratively within a dynamic research team dedicated to advancing genomic science.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform DNA and RNA extraction, library preparation, and quality control for genomic sequencing.
- Operate and maintain next-generation sequencing instruments.
- Assist in the analysis of genomic data, including variant calling and data visualization.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new genomic protocols.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and manage experimental supplies.
- Collaborate with principal investigators and other researchers to ensure project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline.
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, particularly DNA/RNA manipulation.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing workflows and platforms is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with basic bioinformatics tools and data analysis is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in experimental execution.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for a collaborative research environment in Nottingham .
