Research Chemist - Organic Synthesis

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Research Chemist with expertise in Organic Synthesis to join their innovative research and development team based in Coventry . This role involves the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel small molecules for various applications. You will work within a state-of-the-art laboratory, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists to drive projects from conception through to completion, contributing significantly to the company's pipeline of new materials and compounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute multi-step organic synthesis routes for novel target molecules.
• Purify and characterize synthesized compounds using a range of analytical techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC, etc.).
• Optimize reaction conditions to improve yield, purity, and scalability.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to technical reports and publications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver timely results.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in synthetic organic chemistry, including complex route design and execution.
• Proficiency in modern spectroscopic and chromatographic analytical techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a meticulous approach to experimental work.
