About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Fellow to join their pharmaceutical development team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for advancing new drug formulations and delivery systems through innovative research and development. You will work in a well-equipped laboratory environment, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing drug efficacy and patient compliance. The position requires a strong understanding of formulation science, characterization techniques, and the drug development process. You will collaborate closely with project managers, analytical chemists, and clinical teams to progress promising compounds from early-stage research to preclinical development, making a significant contribution to healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments for the formulation and characterization of new drug delivery systems.
- Investigate novel excipients and technologies to improve drug solubility, stability, and bioavailability.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including physicochemical characterization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Assist in the scale-up of formulations from laboratory to pilot scale.
- Document research findings, prepare reports, and present results to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- MSc or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of research experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Hands-on experience with various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topical).
- Proficiency in analytical techniques relevant to formulation characterization (e.g., particle size analysis, DSC, TGA).
- Strong knowledge of GMP principles and drug development processes.
