Research Scientist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Research Scientist to join their thriving drug discovery team in Reading . This role is integral to identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets and advancing promising drug candidates through the early stages of development. You will be part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team, contributing to projects that aim to address unmet medical needs. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to assess the efficacy and safety of potential drug candidates.
• Develop and validate new assays for target identification and validation.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to project strategy discussions.
• Collaborate effectively with chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists within the R&D department.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to the preparation of research reports and publications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in experimental design and execution within a drug discovery context.
• Proficiency in common laboratory techniques relevant to the role (e.g., cell culture, immunoassays, molecular biology methods).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a laboratory setting in Reading .
