Research Scientist - Molecular Biology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Scientist with a strong background in Molecular Biology to join their innovative research team in Glasgow . Key Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and optimize a variety of molecular biology techniques , including PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and ELISA.
• Investigate cellular mechanisms and pathways relevant to disease states using cell culture models.
• Cloning, plasmid construction, and gene expression analysis.
• Prepare and analyze experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with team members on project planning and experimental design.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and contribute to internal reports and presentations.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology research setting.
• Proficiency in core molecular biology techniques and cell culture.
• Experience with genetic manipulation techniques (e.g., siRNA, CRISPR) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
