Research Scientist - Oncology

Our client is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to contribute to their pioneering Oncology research program in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments to investigate cancer biology and test novel therapeutic compounds.
• Develop and optimize cell-based assays for drug screening and mechanism-of-action studies.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, including Western blots, qPCR, and cell viability assays.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and biologists to advance oncology projects.
• Prepare and present research findings at internal meetings and contribute to publications.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and adhere to safety protocols.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Oncology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in oncology research, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Proficiency in cell culture techniques and standard molecular biology methods.
• Experience with cancer cell line models and primary tumor samples.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
