Research Scientist - Structural Biology

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments using techniques such as X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, or NMR spectroscopy to determine protein structures.
• Purify and characterize protein targets and complexes to a high standard suitable for structural studies.
• Analyze structural data to understand protein function, mechanism, and interactions with potential drug molecules.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists and biologists to guide structure-based drug design efforts.
• Troubleshoot complex experimental challenges and optimize protocols for challenging targets.
• Contribute to the interpretation of structural findings and their implications for therapeutic strategies.

Requirements

• PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Biophysics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major structural biology technique (X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM, or NMR).
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex structural data using relevant software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in a virtual team setting.
• Self-motivated with a strong ability to manage projects independently in a remote work environment.
