About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Resettlement Support Officer to assist individuals and families transitioning into new housing situations within the Nottingham area. This role is vital in ensuring a smooth and supportive move, helping clients establish themselves in their new environment and access essential services. You will provide practical and emotional support, addressing immediate needs and linking clients with longer-term resources. This hybrid role combines essential fieldwork, including home visits and community engagement, with remote or office-based responsibilities for planning, reporting, and coordination. It's an opportunity to make a tangible impact on people's lives during a critical period of change.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct needs assessments for individuals and families preparing for or recently resettled into new accommodation.
- Develop and implement personalized resettlement plans, addressing housing, employment, education, and health needs.
- Provide practical assistance with setting up home, accessing benefits, and understanding tenancy agreements.
- Connect clients with appropriate community resources, support groups, and essential services in the Nottingham area.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to help clients adjust to their new surroundings and overcome challenges.
- Maintain accurate case notes and progress reports using the organization's digital systems.
Requirements
- Experience in a support work , housing, or social care role.
- Understanding of issues related to homelessness, resettlement, and supported housing.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using IT for record-keeping and communication.
- Willingness to travel within the Nottinghamshire area and adapt to hybrid working requirements.
