Residential Care Worker - Adults with Complex Needs

About the Role

Our client is looking for a compassionate and resilient Residential Care Worker to provide dedicated support to adults with complex needs in a residential setting in Sunderland . This role is essential for ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care that promotes their dignity, independence, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and feeding, whilst maintaining resident dignity.
• Support residents in daily activities, encouraging engagement and participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic programs.
• Monitor residents' physical and emotional well-being, accurately documenting observations and escalating any concerns to the senior care team.
• Administer medications as prescribed, following strict protocols and ensuring accuracy.
• Assist with light household duties to maintain a clean and homely environment within the residence.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals, ensuring effective communication.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving, particularly with adults with complex needs or challenging behaviours, is advantageous.
• A compassionate nature, patience, and a strong understanding of empathy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
• Willingness to undertake training, including safeguarding and medication management.
• Adaptability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties as required in Sunderland .
