About the Role
Our client is looking for caring and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join their team in Reading . You will provide essential care and support to individuals living in a residential setting, assisting them with daily living activities and promoting their independence and well-being. This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and supportive environment for residents. You will be an integral part of a committed team focused on delivering high-quality person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, and hygiene, with dignity and respect.
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Encourage and facilitate residents' participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
- Monitor residents' well-being, reporting any changes in their physical or emotional condition to the supervisor promptly.
- Administer medications as prescribed, following all safety protocols and documentation procedures.
- Foster a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere within the residential home.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care or support role, particularly in a residential setting, is highly desirable.
- A genuine desire to help others and a compassionate, patient demeanour.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also use initiative.
- Willingness to undertake training, including mandatory care certifications.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles in a care environment.
