About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and commercially aware Retail Architect to join their expanding team in Bristol . This role is focused on designing engaging and functional retail spaces, from flagship stores and shopping centres to pop-up environments and interior fit-outs. You will collaborate closely with clients, branding agencies, and project managers to create spaces that enhance customer experience and meet business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the physical representation of leading brands and contribute to the vibrant retail landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative and practical design concepts for a variety of retail environments.
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, and specifications for retail fit-outs and new builds.
- Ensure designs align with brand identity, customer flow, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to manage the design and construction process effectively.
- Oversee site works to ensure quality, timelines, and adherence to design specifications for retail spaces.
- Stay informed about retail design trends, materials, and technologies to propose innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Qualified Architect (RIBA Part III or equivalent) with specific experience in retail architecture and design.
- Proven ability to translate brand concepts into compelling physical spaces.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Understanding of commercial realities, project budgets, and fast-track delivery for retail projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
- Experience in interior design and space planning for commercial applications is highly advantageous.
