Retail Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and commercially astute Retail Architect to join their practice in Norwich . This role involves designing inspiring and functional retail spaces, from high-street shops and shopping centres to flagship stores and pop-up experiences. You will work closely with brands and developers to translate commercial objectives into compelling architectural designs that enhance customer experience and brand identity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the retail landscape within Norwich and across the region, requiring a consistent presence in the office for client meetings and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative architectural concepts and designs for a wide range of retail environments.
• Create detailed drawings, mood boards, and presentations for client proposals and approvals.
• Ensure designs are commercially viable, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with brand strategies.
• Coordinate with retail designers, branding consultants, and fit-out contractors.
• Manage the design process from concept development through to project completion on site.
• Stay updated on retail trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging design technologies.

Requirements

• Qualified Architect or experienced Architectural Designer with a strong portfolio in retail architecture .
• Proven ability to design engaging and high-performing retail spaces.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD , SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of retail operations, brand identity, and customer experience design.
• Excellent client-facing skills and the ability to articulate design concepts effectively.
