Retail Loss Prevention Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Retail Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard their store in Cambridge . You will be responsible for implementing strategies to minimize shrinkage, deter theft, and ensure a secure shopping environment for both customers and staff. This role requires a keen observational ability, excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with potential shoplifters and staff, and a commitment to upholding the company's safety and security standards. You will play a critical role in protecting company assets and maintaining the integrity of store operations through diligent monitoring and adherence to protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor store activities to detect and prevent theft and other security risks.
• Apprehend shoplifters according to company policy and legal guidelines, or escalate as necessary.
• Conduct regular security checks and report any vulnerabilities or breaches.
• Assist in investigations of internal and external theft.
• Educate staff on loss prevention best practices and security procedures.
• Manage and maintain loss prevention equipment and systems.

Requirements

• Previous experience in loss prevention, security, or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and procedures related to retail security.
