About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and observant Retail Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard their store in Reading . This role is essential in minimizing shrinkage, preventing theft, and ensuring a secure environment for both staff and customers. You will be responsible for monitoring store activity, identifying potential risks, and responding effectively to security incidents. This position requires a high level of integrity, discretion, and a keen eye for detail, supporting the retail operations in Berkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor store premises to detect and prevent theft, fraud, and other security breaches.
• Observe customer and employee behaviour for suspicious activities.
• Apprehend shoplifters and handle incidents according to company policy and legal guidelines.
• Conduct regular store audits to ensure compliance with security procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports on all incidents, investigations, and preventative measures taken.
• Collaborate with store management and law enforcement agencies when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience in loss prevention , security, or law enforcement is preferred.
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of retail security procedures and relevant laws.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and in confrontational situations.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Must be physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods.
