About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialist to bolster their risk assessment and mitigation capabilities in Birmingham . This role is critical in identifying, analyzing, and managing financial and operational risks that could impact the institution's stability and profitability. You will work closely with various departments to ensure robust risk frameworks are in place and adhered to, safeguarding assets and reputation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive risk management frameworks and policies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and compliance risk analyses.
- Analyze risk exposures and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses.
- Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management, regulatory bodies, and audit committees.
- Collaborate with business units to embed risk management best practices into daily operations and decision-making processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in risk management or a related field within the banking or financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III/IV), and financial instruments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent report-writing and presentation abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a relevant quantitative discipline.
