Risk Manager - Credit Risk

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Manager with a specialization in Credit Risk to join their established team in Portsmouth . This critical role involves developing and implementing strategies to manage and mitigate credit exposure across the organisation's lending portfolio. You will analyse credit risk metrics, assess potential impacts of market changes, and ensure robust risk management frameworks are in place. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor credit risk policies and procedures.
• Analyse portfolio performance, identify emerging credit trends, and assess potential risks.
• Develop and refine credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
• Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant credit risk regulations and internal governance standards.
• Collaborate with business units to manage credit risk effectively within agreed limits.
• Contribute to stress testing and scenario analysis exercises.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., FRM, PRM) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of credit risk modelling, portfolio management, and regulatory capital requirements.
• Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python, SQL).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, with experience interacting with senior stakeholders.
