Risk Manager - Credit Risk

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to oversee credit risk management activities for their operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for safeguarding the financial health of the institution by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential credit risks. You will develop and implement robust risk frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in the financial sector. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive credit risk policies and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze credit portfolios to identify emerging risks and trends.
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to assess the impact of adverse economic conditions.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure new products and services align with the bank's risk appetite.
• Prepare regular risk reports for senior management, the board, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead and mentor a team of risk analysts, fostering a culture of risk awareness and compliance.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in credit risk management within the banking industry .
• In-depth knowledge of credit risk modeling, Basel III/IV regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience in managing and developing a team of professionals is essential.
