About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to bolster their risk management framework within their Belfast operations. This critical role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks across the organisation. You will develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and safeguard the company's assets and reputation. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating complex regulatory landscapes and fostering a strong risk-aware culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, identify key risk exposures, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs) and emerging risks to senior management and the board.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices in financial risk management .
- Lead investigations into risk incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; professional risk management qualifications (e.g., FRM, PRM) are advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services sector .
- Strong knowledge of various risk types, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and regulatory risk.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies and controls.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and reporting capabilities.
