Room Leader - Early Years

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Room Leader for their highly regarded nursery in Portsmouth . This role is responsible for leading a specific age group room, ensuring a high standard of childcare and education is delivered in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging activities, observing and assessing children’s progress, and leading a small team of practitioners within your room. This is a crucial role for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to providing an exceptional learning experience for young children in Hampshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of your designated nursery room, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
• Plan and implement a creative and engaging curriculum that supports the individual needs and interests of all children.
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the room team, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to parents.
• Ensure all policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety, are strictly adhered to within the room.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education is required.
• Proven experience as a Room Leader or in a similar senior childcare role.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• A passion for delivering high-quality early years education and care.
