Room Leader - Early Years

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Room Leader for their thriving early years setting in Cardiff . This role involves leading a specific age group room, creating an inspiring and safe environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. You will be responsible for planning engaging activities, overseeing the day-to-day routines of the room, and ensuring that the developmental needs of each child are met. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a designated nursery room, ensuring a stimulating and safe environment for children.
• Plan and implement creative and educational activities in line with the EYFS framework and children's interests.
• Oversee the daily routines, including snack times, nappy changes, and transition periods, with sensitivity and care.
• Observe and document children's progress, contributing to their individual learning journeys.
• Work collaboratively with parents and carers, fostering strong partnerships to support children's learning and development.
• Ensure all policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety, are adhered to within the room.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education.
• Proven experience as an Early Years Practitioner, with a desire to take on leadership responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and best practices.
• Strong communication, observation, and planning skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
• A valid enhanced DBS check is essential.
