About the Role

Our client, a renowned university in Oxford , is seeking a skilled and passionate Rowing Coach to lead their competitive rowing program. You will be responsible for developing training plans, coaching athletes, managing equipment, and fostering a strong team ethos. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of rowing techniques, physiology, and competition strategy, alongside excellent leadership and motivational abilities to guide the team towards success in Oxfordshire and national competitions. You will be instrumental in nurturing student-athletes' potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for competitive rowing crews.
• Provide expert on-water and off-water coaching to student-athletes.
• Manage and maintain the club's rowing equipment and facilities.
• Recruit and retain talented student-athletes for the program.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasising discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Requirements

• Significant experience coaching rowing at a high level, preferably at university or club level.
• In-depth knowledge of rowing techniques, boat handling, and race strategy.
• Proven ability to motivate athletes and manage team dynamics.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Relevant coaching certifications and a degree are advantageous.
