Safe Accommodation Support & Outreach Worker (County)

We're looking for a Safe Accommodation Support and Outreach Worker to join Equation's specialist service for male survivors, supporting men across Nottinghamshire County. This is an interim maternity cover post until November 2027.

If you have experience in housing and homelessness, social care, or supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and you want to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Equation is an award-winning Nottinghamshire charity working to prevent and respond to domestic abuse. We are Respect-accredited for our work with male survivors, a Real Living Wage employer and a Disability Confident employer.

About the role

You'll support survivors who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to live free from abuse. You'll do this by:

What you'll bring

• Completing risk assessments and safety plans, and supporting survivors through the criminal justice system
• Advocating for survivors and helping them access safe accommodation through Local Authority Housing Solutions teams and partner agencies
• Building strong partnerships with housing, homelessness and domestic abuse services across the county
• Working with communities to improve understanding of domestic abuse and survivors' housing needs
• Raising awareness of support for men through events, resources and training

• Experience of front-line work with people facing crisis, abuse or housing difficulties
• An understanding of the barriers male survivors face
• Strong communication and advocacy skills, and confidence working with other agencies
• Good organisation and the ability to manage your own caseload
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage is paid)

What we offer

• 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, rising with long service (pro rata)
• Clinical supervision for all front-line staff
• Flexible and hybrid working
• Health and wellbeing app and free annual eye test
• Sick pay, compassionate leave and special leave
• Mileage and expenses paid
• Ongoing training, including the opportunity to work towards an IDVA qualification, and progression opportunities

How to apply

Apply on our website by 9am on Monday 09th November. We do not accept CVs.

We know that many people who work in this sector have their own experience of domestic abuse, and we value the insight and understanding this can bring. At the end of the interview, your potential line manager will ask, in private (other panel members will leave the room), whether you have any personal experience of domestic abuse. Sharing is completely your choice, and you only need to tell us as much as you feel comfortable with. Your answer will not affect your interview score or the outcome of your application. We ask only so that, if you join us, we can make sure you feel supported, including around anything in the work that may be difficult or triggering.
