About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivating Sales Development Lead to build and manage their new Business Development Representative (BDR) team in Bristol . This leadership role is critical in shaping the top of the sales funnel, focusing on lead generation, qualification, and setting up initial engagements for the wider sales team. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring a team of BDRs, setting performance metrics, and ensuring the team consistently meets its targets. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven sales professional with leadership potential to establish and scale a high-performing BDR function. We are looking for a strategic thinker with excellent coaching and management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs).
- Develop and implement effective strategies for lead generation, qualification, and appointment setting.
- Recruit, hire, and train new BDRs, ensuring they are equipped for success.
- Set clear performance goals and KPIs for the BDR team and monitor progress closely.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership to refine lead scoring and qualification criteria.
- Analyze team performance data and provide regular reports, identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Sales Development or similar outbound sales role, with a strong understanding of lead generation best practices.
- Previous experience in a team lead or management role is highly desirable.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales engagement platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret performance metrics.
