About the Role
Our client, a rapidly expanding force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market, is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sales Director to lead their commercial operations based out of Manchester . This senior leadership position involves developing and implementing ambitious sales strategies, managing a high-performing sales team, and forging strong relationships with key retail partners and distributors across the UK. You will be instrumental in driving revenue growth, expanding market penetration, and ensuring the successful execution of sales objectives. This is a critical role for an experienced sales leader looking to drive significant commercial success within a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue growth targets for the FMCG portfolio.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the national sales team, setting clear goals and performance metrics.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, distributors, and retail buyers.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Oversee the sales budget, manage expenses, and ensure profitable growth across all sales channels.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings, acting as a key brand ambassador.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) in a senior sales leadership role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective sales strategies that have driven significant revenue growth.
- Proven ability to build, manage, and inspire high-performing sales teams.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape and distribution networks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
