About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Sales Director to lead and inspire their sales team within the competitive FMCG market in the Sunderland region. This senior leadership role is critical for driving revenue growth, developing strategic sales plans, and expanding market presence. You will be responsible for setting sales targets, coaching and motivating the sales force, and fostering strong relationships with key clients and distributors. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the FMCG landscape, a proven ability to achieve ambitious sales objectives, and the leadership acumen to guide a high-performing sales organization operating from our Sunderland base.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market share across the FMCG portfolio.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and collective sales targets.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and industry partners.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance data to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and profitability.
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows, enhancing brand visibility and networking.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in sales leadership roles, with a significant portion within the FMCG sector.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sales strategies that deliver substantial revenue growth.
- Strong leadership, team management, and coaching skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Residency or willingness to relocate to the Sunderland area is required for this role.
