About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Director to lead their sales operations in the vibrant FMCG market across the North East of England. This leadership position, based in our Newcastle upon Tyne office, will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans, managing a high-performing sales team, and driving revenue growth. You will play a critical role in expanding market share, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring the successful distribution of our diverse product portfolio. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence sales strategy in a key region for a growing company, contributing to our overall success and reputation in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan that expands the company's customer base and ensures its strong presence in the FMCG market.
- Manage, coach, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships with key retailers, distributors, and B2B partners in Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure sales alignment with brand strategies and new product introductions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in a sales leadership role within the FMCG sector.
- Proven ability to drive sales performance and manage a sales team effectively.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the FMCG retail and wholesale landscape in the UK.
