School Support Staff - Merthyr Tydfil and The RCT Location: Merthyr Tydfil and surrounding areas Pay: GBP85 - GBP100 per day Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, 6.5 hours per day Contract: Flexible, temporary and ongoing opportunities Are you an experienced School Support Worker in Merthyr Tydfil or The RCT looking for flexible work within local primary, secondary or specialist education settings?

The Role

Depending on your experience and the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include:

Supporting pupils within the classroom Working with individuals or small groups Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom activities Supporting pupils with additional learning needs Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement Providing pastoral and emotional support Helping pupils develop confidence and independence Following school policies and safeguarding procedures Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environmentAbout You

We are looking for candidates who have previous experience working with children or young people in a school, education, care, youth work or support setting.

You should also have:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills A patient, supportive and professional approach Confidence working with children and young people The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Good behaviour-management skills A flexible and dependable attitude A genuine interest in supporting pupils' education and development An understanding of safeguarding responsibilitiesExperience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, autism, emotional and behavioural needs or challenging behaviour would be particularly valuable.
