• Job Title: Science Teacher

• Location: Blackburn area, Lancashire

• Start Date: ASAP

• Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing

• Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 per day

About the Science Teacher Role

• Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of abilities

• Teach relevant areas of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, depending on experience and timetable

• Promote curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of scientific concepts

• Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback

• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department

• Contribute to wider school activities and departmental development

The Ideal Science Teacher Will

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have experience teaching Science at secondary level

• Be confident planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be committed to supporting the progress and development of all learners

• Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people

• Provide details of the 2 most recent references, covering the last 5 years' work history

• Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of registration

• Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required safeguarding and compliance checks
