Class Cover is working with a welcoming SEN school in Alton to find a Science Teacher for an exciting temporary assignment. This is a great chance to make a real difference, using your subject knowledge to inspire pupils in a supportive, specialist setting.

The Assignment ✔ Location: Alton, Hampshire ✔ Hours: 9:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Wednesday (3 days a week) ✔ Start date: 4th January 2027 ✔ Duration: Until July 2027, with the possibility of extending to the end of 2027 ✔ Pay: starting from £145 per day

The School The school supports pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges, so you’ll have the opportunity to teach science to a range of ages and abilities. Pupils benefit from small, nurturing classes and a dedicated team who are passionate about helping every child succeed.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging, practical science lessons for primary and secondary pupils

• Adapt your teaching to meet a range of special educational needs

• Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team

• Build positive relationships with pupils and celebrate their progress

• Contribute to a safe, calm and encouraging learning environment

About You

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching science

• Experience of working in an SEN setting is preferred, but not essential if you have the right attitude

• Patient, creative and adaptable, with a real passion for inclusive education

• Willing to work towards a commitment of Monday to Wednesday from January to July 2027

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
