Secondary School Science Teacher (Chemistry Specialist)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Secondary School Science Teacher with a specialism in Chemistry to join their dynamic science department in Leeds . You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring their curiosity and fostering a strong understanding of chemical principles. The role involves contributing to the development of the science curriculum, participating in departmental activities, and supporting student engagement in STEM subjects. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons, with a primary focus on Chemistry , to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Create a stimulating and safe learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
• Develop and utilise a range of teaching and assessment strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Set and mark homework and internal assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Participate in departmental meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development activities.
• Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular science clubs or initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A relevant degree in Chemistry or a related science subject.
• Experience teaching Science, with a proven ability to teach Chemistry effectively at secondary level.
• Strong understanding of the UK Science curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
