Build Security into Every Deployment, Every Platform, Every Day
Are you a hands-on security professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and strengthening cyber resilience? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SecOps Engineer to join a growing technology organisation as they establish a brand-new DevSecOps function. This is more than just another security role. You'll have the opportunity to influence security strategy, improve security operations, and help embed secure engineering practices across a modern cloud and infrastructure estate.
The Opportunity
Working closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and an external Security Operations Centre, you'll play a key role in ensuring security is built into the design, deployment, and operation of critical platforms. The environment spans Azure, AWS, Windows, Linux, and on-premise infrastructure, providing plenty of variety and technical challenge.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing operational security, vulnerability management, cloud security, and continuous improvement projects while helping shape a security-first culture.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading vulnerability remediation activities across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Identifying, prioritising, and managing security risks using industry-leading security tools.
- Planning and delivering security patching and system hardening initiatives.
- Investigating security events and supporting incident response activities.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Improving monitoring, threat detection, and response capabilities.
- Driving security improvement projects across cloud, endpoint, identity, and network security domains.
- Supporting compliance, assurance, and audit requirements within a regulated environment.
- Promoting secure engineering practices and mentoring technical teams on security best practices.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Experience in Security Operations, Security Engineering, or DevSecOps.
- Strong vulnerability management and remediation experience.
- Practical Windows and Linux hardening and patch management expertise.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and hardening standards such as CIS Benchmarks.
- Experience securing Azure and/or AWS environments.
- Familiarity with SIEM technologies and Microsoft security tooling.
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), privileged access, and authentication controls.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working alongside a SOC or managed security services provider.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD tooling.
- Knowledge of regulatory and security frameworks including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, or similar.
- Experience within highly regulated environments.
- Relevant security certifications.
What's On Offer?
Hybrid working model
Opportunity to help build a new DevSecOps capability
Ongoing training, development, and certification support
Generous annual leave entitlement
Pension scheme
Modern, collaborative working environment
Long-term career progression opportunities
Inclusive and diverse company culture
