About the Role
Our client is looking for a vigilant and technically proficient Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their dedicated security team based in Liverpool . In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, detecting threats, and responding to incidents to protect the organisation's digital assets. You will work with state-of-the-art security tools and technologies, contributing directly to the company's defense against cyber-attacks. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR systems.
- Perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents, identifying potential threats and escalating as necessary.
- Conduct deep-dive investigations into security alerts to determine the scope and impact of incidents.
- Assist in the development and refinement of detection rules and incident response playbooks.
- Contribute to threat hunting activities to proactively identify malicious activity.
- Document incident details, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a SOC Analyst role or similar cybersecurity operations position.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) and common attack vectors .
- Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common security vulnerabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or GIAC GSEC are beneficial.
