Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and alert Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their security team in Stoke-on-Trent . In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of monitoring and defending against cyber threats, analyzing security alerts, and responding to potential incidents in real-time. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the continuous security of the company's IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
• Analyze security incidents, perform initial triage, and escalate critical issues to the appropriate teams.
• Conduct investigations into suspicious activities and potential security breaches.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules and use cases for security monitoring systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center environment or similar security monitoring role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, network protocols, and common attack vectors.
• Understanding of incident response methodologies and security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
