SEN Learning Support Practitioner

SEN Learning Support Practitioner

Manchester | Full-time

Help every child discover what they can achieve

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every day?

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Learning Support Practitioner to join a welcoming specialist primary school in Manchester.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children, helping them overcome barriers to learning and celebrating their progress — both in and out of the classroom.

About the role

As an SEN Learning Support Practitioner, you will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

Your day could include:

Providing one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning.

Supporting children with their communication, social and emotional development.

Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills.

Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and encouraging positive behaviour.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to support individual learning plans.

Creating a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Celebrating pupils' achievements and helping them recognise their own progress.

Why join us?

This is more than a classroom support role — it's an opportunity to become an important part of a child's educational journey.

You'll be joining a supportive team where staff work collaboratively and where every pupil is recognised as an individual. You'll gain valuable experience working within a specialist SEN environment, with opportunities to develop your skills and understanding of supporting children with additional needs.

Whether you're already experienced in SEN or you're looking to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from people who are patient, compassionate, resilient and passionate about helping children thrive.

A fantastic Manchester location with easy public transport

Getting to school couldn't be easier. The school is well connected by public transport, making it a convenient choice for candidates travelling from across Manchester and the surrounding areas.

A Metrolink tram stop is close by, providing regular services across Greater Manchester, while local bus routes are also within easy reach of the school.

So, whether you're travelling by tram or bus, you can enjoy a straightforward commute without needing to rely on a car.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting children or young people, ideally within an educational, care or SEN setting.

Is nurturing, patient and understanding.

Can build positive relationships with children and staff.

Is confident supporting pupils with different learning and communication needs.

Is adaptable and willing to take a flexible approach to supporting individual pupils.

Works well as part of a team.

Is committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same and where your support can genuinely change a child's day — and potentially their future — we'd love to hear from you.
