Academics are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant – Hemel Hempstead to join a well-established specialist setting working across two sites in the Hemel Hempstead area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, patient and enthusiastic individual who wants to make a genuine difference to children and young people with additional needs.

You will work closely with teachers and experienced support staff to provide individualised support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

The setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs and provides a structured, nurturing and supportive learning environment.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
• Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
• Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with teachers and the wider staff team
• Supporting pupils to develop independence and confidence
• Contributing to a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Working across two sites in the Hemel Hempstead area

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and develop their SEN knowledge
• The flexibility to work across two sites
• Full commitment to the working hours of 8:00am-4:30pm is essential.

This is a permanent SEN Teaching Assistant – Hemel Hempstead position with a salary of £21,000-£23,000, offering excellent opportunities to build a long-term career within a specialist educational environment.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client’s pay policy.
