SEN Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start Available Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant available to start work immediately and looking for a full-time opportunity with long-term career prospects?
We are recruiting a reliable, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Meldreth, Hertfordshire.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who is ready to take the next step in their career.
The role is offered on a full-time, temporary-to-permanent basis, with the potential to secure a permanent position and access specialist training and professional development opportunities.
Please note: This is a full-time position only. Candidates must be available Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:40pm, and have their own transport or reliable daily commuting arrangements, as the school is most accessible by car.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence, improve communication and build independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to pupils with SEND. Supporting classroom activities and individual learning objectives. Encouraging communication, social interaction and independence. Helping maintain a safe, positive and structured learning environment. Working collaboratively with teachers and other school staff. Adapting your approach to meet individual pupil needs. Essential Requirements To be considered, you must have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND - essential. GCSEs, including good literacy and numeracy skills. A patient, caring and committed approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Excellent reliability and a professional attitude. Full-time availability, Monday to Friday. Own transport or reliable daily commuting arrangements. Candidates who are available to start immediately are particularly encouraged to apply.
