Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and supportive One to One Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Walsall. This is a full time position starting ASAP, initially on an ongoing basis with the potential for the role to become a longer term opportunity. The successful candidate will provide one to one academic support to a KS2 pupil, helping them engage confidently with their learning and make positive progress in the classroom. The pupil has good behaviour, with the main focus of the role being academic support, encouragement and consistent individual attention. About the School The school is a large, multi form entry primary school with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. It has a strong SEN provision and a supportive staff team who work closely together to ensure pupils receive the appropriate academic and pastoral support.
The Role
- Providing dedicated one to one academic support to a KS2 pupil
- Supporting the pupil to access and engage with the curriculum
- Reinforcing classroom learning and helping the pupil make progress
- Working closely with the class teacher to support the pupil's individual needs
- Encouraging confidence, independence and positive learning habits
- Providing consistent, patient and encouraging support throughout the school day
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Experience providing one to one or small group support would be beneficial
- Confident supporting pupils with their academic development
- Patient, caring and approachable
- Able to build strong, positive relationships with children
- Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting pupil progress
- A strong team player who works well alongside teaching and support staff
- Passionate about helping children develop their confidence and independence Salary: Dependent on experience, training and qualifications.
