Location: Romford, Essex Role: SEND Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP Contract: Ongoing, long-term Pay: £100-£110 per day, depending on experience
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Romford area
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with relevant childcare, youth work or care experience who is looking to develop their career within education.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the school's SEND team to provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs. Your responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND Supporting pupils with their learning, development and engagement in lessons Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive relationships Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development Implementing individual learning and support strategies Working alongside teachers and the SENCO to ensure pupils receive appropriate support Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and key life skills Supporting a positive, inclusive and safe classroom environment The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who is:
Experienced working with children or young people with SEND (desirable) Patient, compassionate and confident in supporting individual needs Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils Calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour A strong communicator who works well as part of a team Reliable, proactive and enthusiastic Passionate about helping children reach their full potential
Previous experience with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex learning needs would be advantageous, although relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
