Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools
Academics are looking for experienced, caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to support a number of our partner primary schools across Central Bradford.
We're particularly keen to hear from Teaching Assistants with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication difficulties and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The ideal candidate will be confident providing both 1:1 support and small group interventions, adapting to the individual needs of pupils and helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
This is an opportunity to work on a daily supply basis across a number of local partner schools, offering variety and flexibility, with the potential for the right candidate to move into a longer-term placement as opportunities arise.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting.
Confidence providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of pupils with additional needs.
An understanding of SEN, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties.
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient and nurturing approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and school staff.
A flexible, reliable and proactive attitude, with confidence adapting to different school environments.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
