Senior 5G Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and highly experienced Senior 5G Network Architect to join their cutting-edge research and development division, working remotely with a focus on their operations in Bristol . This strategic role involves designing and evolving the architecture of their next-generation 5G mobile networks. You will be at the forefront of technological innovation, defining the standards and blueprints for high-performance, scalable, and secure 5G infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop the overall architecture for 5G mobile networks, including core network, RAN, and transport layers.
• Define technical specifications and standards for 5G network components and services.
• Evaluate and select emerging technologies to enhance network capabilities and performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure architectural integrity and interoperability.
• Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concept projects for new 5G features and applications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the development and deployment phases.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mobile network architecture, with a deep specialization in 5G technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of 5G NR, SA/NSA core, MEC, network slicing, and cloud-native network functions.
• Proven experience in designing and deploying large-scale telecommunications networks.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices for 5G.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
