About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Leicester . This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting. You will play a key part in month-end and year-end close processes, as well as supporting strategic financial planning and analysis. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow within a dynamic team and contribute significantly to the financial health of the organisation, working closely with various departments to provide insightful financial data and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage and oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing commentary on financial performance.
- Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial compliance.
Requirements
- Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a similar Senior Accountant role, with strong knowledge of financial accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong understanding of taxation principles relevant to UK businesses.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
