Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Leicester . Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Conduct financial analysis , identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and efficiency.
• Liaise with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and supporting financial planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA is highly desirable.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, with at least 3-5 years in a similar senior role.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
