Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their progressive finance team in Liverpool . This role is crucial for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes within the Banking & Finance domain. You will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and maintaining robust internal controls. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP) and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to the financial services sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment in Liverpool .
