Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Liverpool . This role is essential for managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and contributing to audit processes. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably within the banking and finance industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is highly preferred.
