Senior Accountant

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings with meticulous attention to detail.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis, providing actionable insights to management.
• Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries promptly.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the remote team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Proven experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounting tasks independently and meet strict deadlines in a remote setting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
