Senior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Liverpool . This role requires a seasoned professional to take ownership of key accounting functions, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data and contribute to strategic financial planning. This hybrid role allows for a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, fostering a productive and balanced work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing.
• Support the year-end financial audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and best accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
